Plough and Sickle

The other night I saw a church in the distance and turned into a side road to find it. I am pleased I did as  it had a gravestone bearing a symbol I hadn't seen before. It was a plough and sickle. William Lazenby died in November 1881 and his wife in January of the same year. The online burial record doesn't record any agricultural connection.
